The Kettle Valley Railway Cycle Tour

Testimonials

"Wow, what can I say? Three months after returning from the KVR trip the memories still linger. It really was an awesome experience.

So, if you're thinking about doing the trip, what advice can I give?

Firstly, as Nike says - just do it!! It is stimulating, exhilerating, stretching and great fun. Even if you're not an experienced "super fit" cyclist it's OK. Anyone with a reasonable level of basic fitness will cope without any problems. (I'm overweight, over forty with a sedentary lifestyle and thoroughly enjoyed myself).

Secondly don't do it alone, you are getting into wild country, it would be foolish (and dangerous) to go alone. Go with people who know the trails and the area. Anyhow it's much more fun with a group.

Finally, a big thanks to the tour leader Bob and his wonderful wife Adrienne, great people and great fun. Not only is Bob a competent cyclist who knows the area, he is also a qualified chef (now fully trained in the "art" of producing copious quantities of "English" tea) and an able cycle mechanic (evidenced through the ability to mend punctures in the middle of nowhere and replace bottom brackets by torchlight on a campsite table)!

If you're looking for a trip with great people, through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and which will leave you fitter and totally relaxed, just do it!

Cycle the Kettle Valley Railway!! 171.4 km in four days!! Plus keep up with 3 men! I have never cycled any farther than the corner Mac store. What have I got to lose?? I'm relatively fit, and I love a good challenge. Those are the questions that I asked myself.

I can not begin to explain the sights that we saw, the places we camped. Beaverdell was like cycling into an oasis (beautiful). You arrive at each destination totally exhausted, but yet, by the next morning, can't wait to experience more. Then, on the last day, to finish off cycling through Myra Canyon, breathtaking.

Keeping up with the boys was usually a non issue, because there was so much visual information to take in, that you didn't want to sprint through it. The strength and personal empowerment it gave me was awesome, thrilling and rewarding. It was absolutely the best opportunity anyone could ever experience. If you have the desire to challenge yourself and see sights that only 1400 cyclist see each year - Just Do It!
