The Kettle Valley Railway Cycle TourDay 3: Beaverdell to McCulloch 53.7 km
The Carmi gold mine, which is now a ghost town, is at kilometer 74.6. Though deserted, it still holds the life of the times. On May 31, 1915 at a Penticton banquet in celebration of the opening of the Midway to Merritt line, it was announced that the station at Hydraulic Lake would be renamed McCulloch to honour the Kettle Valley Railway’s remarkable engineer, Andrew McCulloch.
